Structural Task Force

Hauke Hillen

Assistant Professor at the University Medical Center Göttingen & Group Leader at the MPI for Biophysical Chemistry

Hauke is a biochemist and structural biologist. With his research team, he studies the structure and function of molecular machines that carry out gene expression in eukaryotic cells using X-ray crystallography and cryo-electron microscopy. He is particularly interested in understanding how genetic material outside the nucleus is expressed, for example in human mitochondria or by viruses in the cytoplasm.
